(INDIANTOWN, FLORIDA) Eighteen year old Indiantown,
FL driver Patrick Sheltra
will make his debut with the ARCA RE/MAX Series this
Saturday at the Kentucky
Speedway in Sparta, KY. The man dubbed as “Mr.
Showtime” will try to put on a
show in the Harley-Davidson of Cincinnati 150 at the
1.5-mile paved oval. ARCA
RE/MAX Series Pork Pole Qualifying will take place Saturday
morning at 9:45
with the start of the 150-mile / 100-lap Harley-Davidson
of Cincinnati 150
slated for 3:00 p.m. $211,600 in prize, point, and contingency
money is on the
line Saturday at the Kentucky Speedway. You can learn
more about this event by
pointing your web browser to www.arcaracing.com.
Patrick will be driving the Brady Ranch / Sheltra &
Sons Construction #2
Chevrolet Monte Carlo at the Kentucky Speedway for car
owner Tony Clements. He
tested there on Monday, May 2 and was the eighteenth
fastest car of the record
thirty-three cars in attendance at the ARCA test session.

from that test session by clicking on the blinking RECENT

“I am very excited to race at the Kentucky Speedway
this Saturday,” stated the
young Floridian on Tuesday. “It will be a great
experience and the Kentucky
Speedway is a great venue. Tony (Clements) is supplying
me with a great car
and I feel confident that the car will be even faster
than it was in the recent
test session. I have to thank the Clements family, my
family, and all of my
sponsors for giving me the opportunity to compete in
an ARCA event.”
In addition to his ARCA obligations this weekend, Patrick
is also planning on
competing in all four Northern Allstar Late Model Series
(NALMS) ‘Indiana
Speedweek’ events. The exciting, dirt-slinging
action will kick off Wednesday
night at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in Vernon, IN.
The racing will then turn
to the Lawrenceburg (IN) Speedway the following evening.
The Bloomington
Speedway in Bloomington, IN will host yet another leg
of ‘Indiana Speedweek’ on
Friday night. The four-day stretch will conclude on
Saturday evening at the
historic Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, IN.
If you are wondering how Patrick will make it from the
ARCA race in Kentucky on
Saturday afternoon to the NALMS event in Indiana on
Saturday night, it is
easy: a helicopter. Patrick and the crew will head out
immediately following
the ARCA race and will travel by helicopter to Brownstown,
IN for the NALMS
event. All four NALMS events will pay $2,500 to the
winner and an extra $2,000
is on the line for the ‘Indiana Speedweek’
Champion. For more information
concerning these events, log onto the NALMS website
at
www.northernallstars.org.
Patrick took his first checkered flag of the 2005 season,
as he won a feature
event at the Union County Speedway in Liberty, IN last
Friday night. He
finished third in his heat race, but rebounded in the
feature to get the
victory. The driver of the Sheltra & Sons / Brady
Ranch #23 Rayburn / Pro
Power Grand Prix was also in action on Saturday at the
Kamp Motor Speedway in
Boswell, IN. After winning his heat race, Patrick rolled
off from the outside
of the front row for the $1,500 to win event. A wrong
tire selection hampered
Patrick’s effort in the feature; however, and
he settled for a solid fourth
place performance.
In other news, you can watch Patrick this Wednesday,
May 11 on ESPN2 in a taped-
delayed broadcast of the Lucas Oil NARA Late Model Series
event from the Dirt
Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The event will
air at 3:00 p.m. EST. Patrick
drove the #1cj test car to a nineteenth place finish
in the $10,000 to win
event that was held back in early April.
Patrick and the Sheltra Motorsports team would like
to thank all of their
sponsors and supporters including: Sheltra & Sons
Construction, Brady Ranch,
Allabout Flowers, C.J. Rayburn Race Cars, Clements Racing
Engines, Pro Power
Racing Engines, Flora Ganics, Stimmell’s Sport
Shop, Johnson & Company, Delph
